Since WAF-KENYA was founded in 2019, we have been pursuing a bold mission: empowering women and children in vulnerable communities:
The organisation emerged from the need to empower women and girls facing socio-economic challenges. While the challenges are significant, we are optimistic. With the right tools and strategies ,we make progress every day through our dedicated programs, partnerships and generous supporters.
We are driven by the belief that empowering women leads to stronger families and communities-If we work together, we believe that every woman and child can access a better future within our lifetime.
Our Mission
Women Action Foundation Kenya is equipping & supporting women and children to overcome poverty and inequality through sustainable livelihood opportunities, education and health access enabling them to thrive and contribute to their communities.
Our Model
Our community ACTION approach
We operate on a dual impact model addressing two issues simultaneously :
- Women economic empowerment : Creating sustainable livelihoods for women through skills training, financial inclusion, and market access including access to
- Early childhood development : Providing holistic early learning environments to ensure children receive quality foundational education and improved cognitive development.
We focus on creating a sustainable ecosystem through partnering with women and their communities ,train our local champions to co-create ,deliver and bring vital program support to women and children where its needed the most – These programs work hand-in-hand, ensuring that economic empowerment leads to better educational opportunities for children, breaking intergenerational poverty cycles .
